First Fruits, The Promise of What's to Come

The Feast of First Fruits is a Biblical celebration and one of the 7 Feasts of the Lord: Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, Shavuot (aka Pentecost), Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and Tabernacles. This is a profound feast because it teaches us so much about what Yeshua has done for us! Passover = Yeshua's Death and First Fruits = Yeshua's Resurrection. Take a listen and be amazed that God's awesome plan of redemption was clearly pictured in this Feast!

The King is Coming, Part 1

Pastor Jay begins a new series in which we'll walk through Matthew's Gospel. Matthew's Gospel is a great read for Jewish Roots students since it has a distinctly Jewish/Hebraic background and focus. Matthew focuses a great deal on the Kingdom of God and His Messiah. Sit back, and may the Lord prepare us to receive the coming King!

The King is Coming, Part 2

Pastor Jay continues with Matthew's account of Yeshua's genealogy. In the previous episode, we worked through Yeshua's physical ancestry. In this episode, we'll walk through His spiritual/messianic ancestry. Be prepared for some surprising twists!

The King has Come, Part 1

In this episode, the Wise Men from the East arrive and scare King Herod with their news that a King of Judea has been born. Why is this important? To find out, we need to understand the "behind the scenes" information to appreciate what's going on!

The King has Come, Part 2

Matthew 2 concludes with Yeshua and His parents fleeing to Egypt, Herod's massacre of the Bethlehem boys, two-years old and under, and the Holy Family's return to Israel, specifically Nazareth. Come, listen to the amazing story behind the story that will add depth and meaning to what you already know!

The King is Presented, Part 1

Who was this John the Baptist? Without Him, Yeshua could not have been presented to Israel as their Messiah! Take a listen as Pastor Jay reveals just how special John the Immerser was, and why he was crucial to revealing Yeshua to the world.

The King is Presented, Part 2

Get ready for a tough message! John the Immerser's (Baptist's) message was singular - repent! Turn from sin and rededicate/recommit yourself to God! So where is your walk with God right now? Could John the Baptist be preaching to you?

The King is Presented, Part 3

We're finally at the point where Yeshua shows up for His baptism. John speaks of the Coming One's mission as Messiah and Judge, then Jesus presents Himself for immersion. But wait! Why does Jesus need to be baptized? Wasn't John's baptism about repentance? Did Jesus need to repent? Wasn't He the spotless (sinless) Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Listen in for the answer!

The King is Tested, Part 1

Temptation. Immediately after His baptism and empowering by the Holy Spirit, Yeshua goes off into the Judean Wilderness to be tempted. Before we talk about that, Pastor Jay examines the topic of temptation. Without understanding the nature, source, and power of temptation, we won't fully appreciate why Yeshua was led into a time of solitude and isolation before launching into His ministry. This message will also help us withstand temptation when it comes to us!

The King is Tested, Part 2

In the Wilderness. We can now take a look at the Three Temptations Yeshua/Jesus encountered in the Wilderness and why they were so targeted toward Him.

The King is Tested, Part 3

The King Prepares. Yeshua has completed His testing and is now preparing for His mission. The King gets ready to launch His Kingdom in the hearts of people. First, He needs a place out of which to operate. Second, He looks for His subjects, those who will be His disciples. Finally, Yeshua begins to exercise His power.

Gentile Christians and the Torah

The Jerusalem Council's Ruling in Acts 15. With the rise of Messianic Judaism over the last 40+ years, there has been a great debate about the Torah's place in a Christian's life. It is now obvious that Yeshua affirmed the Torah and its ongoing nature. Where does it fit in the New Covenant? How are Gentiles expected to relate to the Torah and what is the official position of the Jerusalem Church? No matter what position you hold right now, you may be greatly surprised at what Pastor Jay reveals

God’s Commandments, Part 1

God’s Top Ten List for Life. This is the first episode in Pastor Jay's series on the 10 Commandments. To set up the teaching, Pastor Jay explains what they are, their purposes for us, and their relevance for today.

God’s Commandments, Part 2

Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Commandment #1. Obedience is Job #1. In this episode, Pastor Jay explains that Commandment #1 is primarily about obedience, a word that many Christians don't want to hear about. But it is expected of us as believers and followers of the God of Israel.

God’s Commandments, Part 3

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, Commandment #2. There’s an “I” in Idolatry. Yes, most Christians know that God forbids serving other gods. Many can even quote Commandment #2. But the real source of idolatry is not found outside of us, but inside. Will we bow down to the god of "self" or our Creator?

God’s Commandments, Part 4

Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain. Commandment #3. Misusing God’s Name. Most everyone thinks that Commandment #3 is about swearing, i.e. cursing, using God's name in a wrong way. But it goes far deeper than that. Once you hear this message, it will challenge you about how you've misused the Lord's name - perhaps on a daily basis if you're a self-professed Christian!

God’s Commandments, Part 5

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Commandment #4. Keeping the Sabbath. God’s Perfect Rest. Pastor Jay explains what the Sabbath is, what the principle of a sabbath is, and the why's and how's of honoring and observing the Sabbath.

God’s Commandments, Part 6

Honor thy father and thy mother. Commandment #5. Honoring Parents, Honoring God. There is a deep connection between honoring our parents and honoring God! This Commandment is a crucial link between those commands that focus on God and those that focus on our fellow person.

God’s Commandments, Part 7

Thou shalt not kill. Commandment #6. Could You Be Convicted of Murder? Most Christians would say, "No. I would NEVER commit murder!" And yet, even with the obvious command not to kill another person, most of us could be condemned for murder...if we approached it as Yeshua taught about it. If we were to follow this command, it would go a long way to preventing much hurt and harm in the world around us!

God’s Commandments, Part 8

Thou shalt not commit adultery. Commandment #7. Could You Be Convicted of Adultery? Again, this is a commandment that few would admit to, but most of us break...if we honestly evaluate our behavior by Yeshua's standards. Take a listen and prepare to be challenged greatly!

God’s Commandments, Part 9

Thou shalt not steal. Commandment #8. Stealing. Stealing - taking what doesn't belong to us - is rampant. It is a common and often justified act, even among Christians, sad to say! From petty theft to billions of dollars, stealing is a great problem. And theft involves more than just material things. Take a listen to hear how you may be stealing and not be aware of it.

God’s Commandments, Part 10

Thou shalt not bear false witness. Commandment #9. What Does Bearing False Witness Mean? Okay, this doesn't sound like such a big deal. But the fact that the prohibition is included in God's Top Ten List should be an indication that the Lord is very serious about lying, deception, and telling/living the truth.

God’s Commandments, Part 11

Thou shalt not covet. Commandment #10. Gimme, Gimme, Gimme. Coveting. Really, what does that mean? How serious is it anyway? Is all "wanting" wrong? If not, where's the line? These are just some of the issues Pastor Jay covers as we come around full circle in our Ten Commandments study. Enjoy
